Waiter Rant: Thanks for the Tip--Confessions of a Cynical Waiter by Steve Dublanica, aka The Waiter. [amazon 0061256692 thumbnail]

Taken from the popular blog, WaiterRant.net, this book tells the story from the server's point of view about customer stupidity, arrogance, misbehavior, and even human grace.  "As you might know, my other job is as a waitress at the Backroads Diner," says Beth.  "I really related to his adventures and stories.  Not that anybody around here would do those things to a server."  Image removed.   Put Me on the List!

Penumbra by Carolyn Haines   [amazon 0312351607 thumbnail]

Jade Dupree is a beautician and an undertaker's assistant with a gift for smoothing the ravages of death from the faces of her clientele.  A dark suspenseful mystery crime novel.  Beth says, "there's a historical twist, but it's a little racy.  You've been warned."  Put Me on the List!

[amazon B0019F35T8 thumbnail]  Love on the Inside by Sugarland

I really love the lead singers voice, raspy and a little different.  I loved track #5, "Love."  Put Me on the List!

[amazon B001AQXJ9W thumbnail]    All I Ever Wanted by Kelly Clarkson

As a HUGE American Idol Fan, "Well, it's Kelly Clarkson," is all that really needs to be said.  As Randy Jackson would say, "Kelly could sing the phone book."  Put Me on the List!

We ALL recommend:

[amazon 1401323294 thumbnail]    That Went Well by Terrell Harris Dougan        Put Me on the List!

Terrell Dougan tells the story of her life with her mentally disabled sister, Irene.  Humor, joy, sorry, love and compassion are the elements that make this memoir one that the reader will not soon forget.

Shelly says, "As someone with a mentally disabled cousin, I connected with Dougan's stories and her ability to place the day-to-day trials of living in perspective, with great insights and lots of humor.  I also admired Dougan's drive to provide the best, and most independent, environment possible for her sister, even in the face of a public health system that is so clearly broken."
